Chanel achieves Hermes status
French iconic brand Chanel has increased the prices of its handbags in a bid to become an even more exclusive and desirable brand. Compared to 2019, the prices of Chanel handbags have increased by up to two-thirds. A spokeswoman for Chanel said the price hikes were due to fluctuations in the exchange rate, changes in manufacturing prices. As well as the brand hereby assured that the price of Chanel handbags will be the same globally.
Chanel’s aggressive corporate strategy of raising prices has been supported by the fact that they are reducing the number of handbags they produce, making them even more exclusive.
London department store Selfridges has been sold
First opened in 1908, Selfridges is a legendary department store on Oxford Street in London. Over the years it has become a literal mecca for fashion enthusiasts. Selfridges is one of the most famous department stores in the world. At the end of December, Selfridges was sold to Thai conglomerate Central Group. At the end of December, American Vogue announced a poll on its website and Instagram. Their readers and followers had to choose the best fashion trend of 2021. “Monogram” was the clear winner with up to 62% of the votes. “Balaclava”, miniskirts, and “ugly shoes” also ranked high.
