Italian designer Nino Cerruti dies
Nino Cerruti, the designer credited with refining the craft of tailoring in menswear, has died at the age of 91. Cerruti was mentored by the famous Giorgio Armani and his brand gained popularity, especially in the 1980s and 1990s in American Hollywood.
Bottega Veneta highlights its brand on the Great Wall of China
On the occasion of Chinese New Year, Bottega Veneta displayed its logo and the Chinese inscription “Happy New Year” directly on the Great Wall of China. For this display, the brand chose the colours that symbolise good luck in China, namely green and orange. Bottega Veneta has also launched a new campaign, primarily in the same colours as the installation on the Great Wall of China. This installation is also one of the brand’s latest experimental marketing moves. Valentino unveils its first sustainable sneaker design
Two iconic Valentino sneaker designs have been given an exclusive sustainable re-design. The latest sneaker version incorporates recyclable and organic materials. This environmental approach of the brand is reflected not only in the design itself or the materials used, but also in the packaging. The sneaker packaging is made from fully recyclable cotton and paper sourced from sustainably organized forests. Valentino has likewise committed to the absolute abolition of fur in their collections, as early as the beginning of 2022. They have likewise committed to the abolition of the use of alpaca fur, starting this spring.
